Treevi Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
Treevi is a breathing app. It was designed to know as little about you as possible. This page says what it keeps, where, why, and what you can do about it.
In short
- Without an account, your practice stays on your phone. We have no access to it.
- With an account, your progress is copied to a server in Germany so you can find it again on another phone. Nothing else.
- Your answers to the first-run questions are not kept.
- No advertising, no advertising tracking, no sale of data.
- With an account, you can export your data and delete your account from the app, at any time.
Who is responsible for your data
Treevi is published by William Mouliné, a sole proprietor (entrepreneur individuel), 3 bis rue du 27e Régiment d’Infanterie, 21000 Dijon, France — SIREN 813 353 752.
For any question about your data: contact@treevi.app.
What Treevi keeps, and where
On your phone only
- Your practice log, as long as you have no account: your sessions (date, time, length), your completed days, your cards, your badges, your showcase, your daily goal and your settings.
- A tone setting for your reminders, chosen from your first answer to “what are you looking for?”. It never leaves your phone.
- Your reminder: your phone schedules it itself. No server sends you notifications.
Your answers to the first-run questions (what you are looking for, your habits) personalize your journey while you go through it. They are erased as soon as you finish it. They are sent nowhere.
Your practice is never included in your phone’s automatic backups (iCloud, Google). If you change phones without an account, your progress does not follow you. On iPhone, a backup may contain a small piece of technical data tied to your subscription: the random identifier described below and the status of your subscription.
On our server, if you create an account
- Your email address, or the one Apple or Google gives us if you sign in with them, with their identifier. With Apple, this may be a relay address. Treevi asks for neither your name nor a password. If you sign in with Google, Google may also send us your name and profile picture: our hosting provider keeps them with your account, and Treevi does not use them.
- Your progress: your sessions (date, local time, time zone, target length, time breathed, finished or stopped), your completed days, the cards you drew and viewed, your showcase, the badges you have been shown, and your daily goal.
- Your settings: your reminder (on or off, its time), how sessions start, and vibration.
- A few milestones: the date of your first launch and of the end of the first-run journey, your first opening of the science review, and the dates the app offered to let you rate it.
- Connection data: our hosting provider records your IP address and device type when you sign in, for account security.
This data serves a single purpose: giving you back your progress on another device. It is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. Each account is kept separate there: no other user can read it.
This is not medical data. Treevi measures nothing about your body and makes no diagnosis. Our server keeps dates and durations; none of your answers about what you are looking for are stored there.
What leaves your phone, even without an account
- Anonymous counters. To find out whether the app is understood, Treevi counts, for example, how many people reach a given first-run screen, or how many practice one to three times a week. These counters carry no identifier: not yours, not your phone’s. They cannot be used to recognize or follow you.
- Error reports. If the app crashes, or if an operation fails (a copy, a subscription check or a missing illustration, for example), it sends a technical report: where in the code the error happened, your phone model, and the versions of its system and of Treevi. The report contains no identifier and nothing about your practice, and your IP address is not kept. It cannot be traced back to you: we can neither find it nor single it out from the others.
- Your subscription. The purchase is handled by the App Store or Google Play. To know whether your subscription is active, Treevi uses a service, RevenueCat, which receives a random identifier created for your installation, unrelated to your name or email address, the history of your Treevi purchases, the IP address of the request, and technical details: your phone’s type, the versions of its system and of Treevi, and its language. On iPhone, it also receives an identifier of your device provided by Apple, the same for all apps from one publisher (identifierForVendor). It receives neither your email address nor your practice.
- Your email address, long enough to send you a code, if you choose to sign in by email.
- The illustrations. They are downloaded from our server.
As with any connection to the Internet, the servers that receive these requests see your IP address in passing. We do not use it to recognize you.
On the treevi.app website
This website’s pages are served by Netlify, which keeps technical logs (including visitors’ IP addresses) to run the service. The website does not measure its audience and sets no advertising trackers.
Our legal basis for processing this data
| What we do | Our basis |
|---|---|
| Providing the app, your account, the copy of your progress, your subscription | The contract between us: your terms of use |
| Anonymously counting how the app is used | Our legitimate interest in understanding how the app is used, with counters that cannot identify you |
| Receiving error reports | Our legitimate interest in fixing the app |
| Keeping connection and website technical logs | Our legitimate interest in securing the service |
| Answering your messages | Our legitimate interest in answering you |
We do not ask for your consent: there is no advertising, no profiling and no tracking across apps. Treevi and its providers only read a few technical details on your phone, described in this policy, including, on iPhone, the device identifier sent to RevenueCat. They are used to run the app and your subscription, count its use and fix its errors, and for nothing else.
Who else sees your data
We do not sell or rent any data, and we share none with anyone for commercial purposes. A few technical providers process data on our behalf:
| Provider | What it does | Where the data is |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Hosts accounts, progress and illustrations | Germany |
| Brevo | Sends the sign-in code by email | European Union |
| TelemetryDeck | Receives the anonymous counters | Germany |
| Sentry | Receives error reports | Germany |
| RevenueCat | Tracks subscription status | United States |
| Netlify | Hosts the treevi.app website | United States |
| OVH | Hosts our mailbox | France |
Apple and Google handle your purchase, and your sign-in if you use them, under their own rules.
Outside the European Union. RevenueCat keeps its data in the United States; this is limited to your installation’s random identifier, your device identifier on iPhone, your purchase history, and the IP address and technical details of the request. Netlify processes the website’s logs there. Supabase and Sentry are American companies: your data stays in Germany, but their teams may access it from the United States to run the service. These transfers are covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses or another recognized mechanism, with their UK equivalent where it applies.
How long
| Data | Duration |
|---|---|
| Your account and progress | As long as your account exists. If you do not sign in for three years, we warn you by email, then delete your account. |
| Error reports | 30 days |
| Sign-in code sending log | One month |
| Your messages and our replies | Two years after the last exchange |
| Subscription tracking | As long as the app uses this service |
Our hosting provider’s technical backups are replaced within days.
Your rights
At any time, you can:
- export your data, if you have an account, from Treevi’s settings: you receive a file containing all your progress;
- delete your account from the settings, or without the app from this page: your account and everything our server keeps about you are erased. What your phone holds stays there until you uninstall Treevi;
- ask us for access to your data, ask us to correct it, to restrict processing, or object to it, by writing to contact@treevi.app. We answer within one month.
If you have no account, we cannot put a name to you: your data is on your phone, and erasing it means uninstalling the app. A durable technical identifier does exist at RevenueCat for your subscription, without your name or email address. Counters and error reports, for their part, carry nothing that lets us link them to you.
If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr), or to your country’s data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
Age
Treevi is reserved for people aged 16 and over. We do not ask your age; if we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
If you live outside the European Union
The same rules apply to everyone, wherever you live. If you live in the United States, a complementary page describes what we do with “consumer health data” under certain state laws: Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
If this policy changes
We update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what we keep about you and you have an account, we tell you by email before it applies.
